Reva P. Babcock, 87, of Wolverine, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Tendercare in Gaylord.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Silver Lake Cemetery in Wolverine.
Reva was born April 21, 1926. She was the daughter of Harold and Pauline (Powers) Jones. She grew up in the Millington/Otisville area and graduated from Otisville High School. Reva earned a registered nursing degree from the Hurley School of Nursing in Flint.
On July 14, 1946 she married Gordon Babcock in Millington. The couple moved to Wolverine, returned to Millington, and later moved to Dearborn where they raised their family.
Reva was employed at Lynn Hospital in the Detroit area. After Gordon’s retirement the couple moved back to Wolverine. Gordon preceded her in death in 1982. She continued to make her home in Wolverine and had been a resident of Tendercare in Gaylord for the past two years. Reva enjoyed the out of doors. She liked to garden, pick berries and mushrooms. She is survived by her children, Larry D. (Dorothy) Babcock of Ann Arbor, MI, Marybeth (Kenneth) Palmer of Wolverine, MI, Gary Babcock of MI; twenty grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, Reva was preceded in death by her son, Barry Babcock and her brothers, Paul and Robert Jones.
Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River served the Babcock family.
